Description

Teaches the fundamentals of Visual Basic® for Applications (VBA) programming, and measurement tasks in PULSE LabShop. Exercises and examples are used extensively to acquaint the user step by step with both the OLE2 interface to PULSE LabShop and the Visual Basic® for Applications development environment. Some previous experience with programming in a high-level programming language like PASCAL or BASIC is recommended.

Objectives

To teach how to develop small programs using the VBA programming language/environment.

  • To teach how to create a simplied user interface for PULSE Labshop.
  • To teach how to automate PULSE Labshop using the OLE2 interface and make it do all those routine jobs.
  • To teach how to extend the functionality of PULSE Labshop, for instance by using PULSE Data Manager components.
  • To teach how to integrate PULSE Labshop with popular office applications such as Word and Excel.

Prerequisites

Basic programming knowledge in either C, C++, Visual Basic, Fortran, Pascal, Java or similar. This will help you to understand the programming syntax of VBA and greatly improve the learning curve. Vast experience in the usage of PULSE Labshop is required as this application will be the base for all exercises.
