NSI - Intensity Mapping

Noise Source Identification (NSI) is an important method for optimising the noise emission from a wide range of mechanical and electro-mechanical products like vehicle engines, components , aircrafts, appliances, power tools, industrial machinery, etc.

In addition, selective intensity may be used to further identify the internal root sources and radiation mechanisms involved. Since intensity mapping typically involve measuring a large number of points, the measurement is most effectively performed using an automated microphone positioning system (robot).

Features

  • Measurement and mapping of sound pressure, sound intensity and other directly measured sound field parameters
  • Calculation of partial sound power for ranking of subsources
  • Easy geometry guided measuring process
  • Intuitive documentation using source image overlay
  • Expandable with: Selective Intensity Mapping, Automated positioning system
  • Robot option to automate measurement process

Two- and three-dimensional maps with source image overlay provide easy to understand documentation of noise sources. Integrated database for storing results, comparing maps and doing sound power ranking
