Voice Testing System for Mobile Phones

Voice Testing System for Mobile Phones Type 6712 provides a new and improved approach to fast, reliable and efficient voice testing of Mobile Phones. Type 6712 is a powerful tool in the entire development and production process of mobile telephones.

The Voice Testing System is software controlled, allowing measurements to be made consistently and with a minimum of operator interaction. High-level users can use the instruments and software interactively to develop their own tests for parameters not covered by the standard test cases.

Uses

Voice testing of mobile phones covering:

  • Research and development of mobile phones
  • Quality assurance and sample testing of mobile phones
  • Inspection and validation of mobile phones

Features

  • Pre-programmed tests run individually or as a complete sequence with minimum operator interaction
  • Advanced noise excitation test methods including artificial speech signals (ITU-T Rec. P.50)
  • Real-time filters (IEC225) and sound level measurements (IEC651) for noise and speech signal analyses
  • Digital equalisation of Mouth Simulator
  • Automatic test report generation
  • Flexible user interface enabling users to design test cases
  • Supports measurements with HATS (4128D) for realistic handset evaluation
  • Adaptive test methods for sine excitation ensure highly accurate results

Voice Testing System for Mobile Phones Type 6712 supports a wide range of international standards required for testing the acoustical performance of mobile phones.

Standards currently supported are:

  • EN 300 903 (GSM 03.50)
  • 3GPP TS.51.010 (GSM 11.10 chapter 30)
  • 3GPP TS.26.132
  • CTIA Certification Program Test Plan (section 7)
  • 3GPP2 C.S0056-0

The test cases typically required by the standards are:

  • Receiving Sensitivity Frequency Response
  • Sending Sensitivity Frequency Response
  • Receiving Loudness Rating
  • Sending Loudness Rating
  • Talker Sidetone (STMR)
  • Sidetone Distortion
  • Receiving Distortion
  • Sending Distortion
  • Out of Band Signals
  • Receiving Noise
  • Sending Noise
  • Echo Return Loss (ERL)
  • Stability Loss
  • Ambient Noise Rejection (ANR)
  • Listener Sidetone Rating (LSTR)

and for each standard the appropriate selection of required test cases are included in the application software.
